Hong Kong Cruise Photographer - Genting Dream Cruise

A few months ago I was hired on a very special and unusual assignment, shooting advertising visuals onboard a cruise ship for Genting Dream Cruise, departing from Hong Kong and sailing to Vietnam and the Philippines. It was my first time traveling on such a vessel, let alone living on water for 2 weeks with the rest of our team. It was an amazing experience, at times challenging yet overall great fun. It was also my first project working with medium format camera Fujifilm GFX 50s.

Germain Tailors SS017 - Hong Kong Lifestyle Photographer

Good to be back in Asia after a month of travel, and happy to start this new season with a really fun project, working with Germain Tailors on their new Spring Summer 2017 brand campaign in Hong Kong. This time we decided to shoot in the beachside village of Shek O, in the South-East of Hong Kong Island, spending a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Fine white sand, iodine smell, fresh beers, sound of crashing waves... and great tailored outfits to walk around in style.

Hong Kong Architecture Photographer - Ports 1961 Pop-Up

Photo documentary about the construction of Ports 1961 event set in Hong Kong, designed and built by Bureau Betak. The venue was a large open concrete structure set on the rooftop of a ferry pier, overlooking Victoria Harbour. I was assigned to capture behind-the-scene moments to showcase the various challenges involved in the making of such a set, as well as architectural views of the completed structure in its context, the way it was used for the event, and how people interacted with the space.

China Warehouse Photographer - Goodman Logistics

Here is what I've been working on since the beginning of this year, illustrative corporate visuals for global warehouse developer Goodman all across China. This long-term project took me to Shanghai, Kunshan, Suzhou, Jinshan, Tianjin and Chengdu.

My aim has been to document all aspects of these development projects, from construction to finished products, sites in service, client interaction, general descriptive views, landscaping, architectural details, branding elements, access and integration within key locations, safety, human attention and other distinctive features.

This industrial portfolio was set to showcase the diversity of usage and the high-end built quality of Goodman's design of serviced properties, and give a sens of their global overlook upon projects from land ownership to final client retail.

Another part of the job was to show the office side of business, as the company's head office for China is located within Shanghai's new Kerry Center and features prime open space design with a great emphasis put on human interaction.

Personal Project - Hong Kong Architecture Study in Black & White

I came to Hong Kong for the first time in 2008, expecting to find a futuristic metropolis straight out of a fiction movie. My big surprise was to find a city that had been probably very modern at some point in the 70's and which was now slowly decaying in the humidity and heat, with a delicious vintage feel to it. Since then I've been back many times and the unique architectural landscape of this city continues to amaze me every time. In the frame of a personal photographic study on urbanism in Asia, I have worked on several series about architecture and urban spaces around Hong Kong.

Below are some recent out-takes from my latest trip to the island.

China Event Photographer - Hong Kong Wine Tasting

Rhone Vignobles is a french association of 14 independent wine makers from the Rhone Valley who have recently been on a promotional tour around Asia, introducing their high-end millesimes to wine professionals and other enthusiasts from Hong Kong and Shanghai. Together with the marketing agency Vinosensia, they organized wine tastings and diners in both cities, where I followed them to document those joyful encounters. I did get a bit tipsy.
